Abstract:How to avoid the irregular wear of tire is one of the most pressing problems to be solved in the process of a vehicle’s research and design, and the self-excited vibration of tread is one of the important factors in tire's irregular wear. Considering the nonlinear characteristic of tire’s grounding friction, a dynamic vibration model of the tire, taking time-delay into account, is established, using Lugre friction model. The sensitive parameters and speed range which can motivate self-excited vibration are calculated,as well as the phenomenon of hard self-excited vibration are proved to be reasonable at high speed after simulating in matlab/simulink. A conclusion that tread is more prone to the phenomenon of self-excited with more load, less mass of grounding tread and bigger toe angle is gained by means of varying the sensitive parameters. The dynamic vibration model can provide a theoretic foundation to reduce or eliminate the tire's self-excited vibration.
