The method of roller bearing fault comprehensive diagnosis based on LMD

Abstract:LMD (Local mean decomposition) is a new kind of adaptive time-frequency analysis method, which exhibits a good application prospect in filed of bearing fault diagnosis. In this paper, the LMD is advanced to improve it calculation speed. Then, the synthetic signal is used to illustrate the effectiveness of the proposed method by processing multi-component modulated characteristics of the signal. In view of the modulation characteristics of the vibration acceleration signal of the faulty bearing and the impact of background signals, LMD method is proposed to diagnose the bearing with outer-race fault, inner-race fault and the elements fault. The results indicate that the characteristic frequencies can be extracted effectively using the LMD method and they are coincidental to the fault type.
