Thermal flutter and control of a panel using normal form direct method

Abstract:The flutter equation of a two-dimensional heated panel in supersonic airflow is established. The bifurcation theory is used to derive Hopf bifurcation point of the system, and the Normal Form of Hopf bifurcation point is calculated according to the normal form direct method. The washout filter technique is introduced to control thermal flutter actively and to postpone the generation of Hopf bifurcation without changing the bifurcation type. The numerical simulations confirm the analytical results.
