Abstract:A simulation method of flow-induced mechanical vibrations in ship-used centrifugal pump is applied in this article. The interior flow field is simulated by an URANS-based CFD program. The pressure fluctuations on blades of impeller are exported using UDF interface program, this provided time series of pressure fluctuations on the external surface as force-boundary conditions. The vibration exciting source is obtained by integrating pressure fluctuations on the bearing of impeller and using fast flourier transformation. The vibration of the pump and motor system was simulated using a standard dynamic FEM code in the frequency field. The experimental results showed that the numerical method could be used to estimate flow-induced vibration generated on turbo-machinery and design low noise pump. The numerical results show that the advanced pump is better than the prototype.
