Abstract:Abstract: Based on one type of turbocharger the sealed construction on the turbocharger rotor can be regarded as a special kind of oil film bearing as the dynamic principle on sealing force and film force is similitude. The stiffness and damping matrix which are calculated by using short bearing theory are added into the model to be simulated, the result is compared with the experimental critical speed result and the result which is simulated by anther model without sealed construction. The rule of sealed construction on critical speed, stability and unbalance response can be revealed by this way. The conclusion shows: the sealed construction is of the essence when the ball bearing turbocharger is analysed on rotor dynamics, and the short bearing theory is available for it.
