Abstract:Exploring appropriate method to calculate blast loads against blast walls could be helpful for their design and applications. Reflected pressure is the main load acting on the blast wall which could be acquired from the incidence pressure multiplied by the reflected pressure coefficient. Numerical simulations were adopted to study the reflected pressure coefficient considering the deformation effects of the blast wall under blast loads. According to the numerical simulation, it is shown that the deformation of blast wall has little influence on the reflection of the blast wave, which suggests that the deformation of the blast wall and the reflected pressure could be decoupled. Prediction equation of the reflected pressure coefficient on the blast wall along its height was then summarized from the numerical simulation under ground explosion and subsurface explosion.
