Numerical simulation of refuge chamber’s resistance to the impact of gas explosion

Abstract:To make some theoretical references for the structural design and its optimization, ability of the refuge chamber resisting gas explosion impact was analyzed by numerical simulation. Through simulating the instantaneous impact and the reaction from refuge chamber with the nonlinear explicit of FEM, stress, strain and displacement during the impact, deformed structure after the impact were attained. The conclusions are as follows: The relationship between the deform and peak of pressure is nonlinear; The refuge chamber’s deformation is elastic when the pressure of impact is weak, then it develops to the plastic deformation with the pressure increasing; As the pressure attenuates to zero, the de-formation remains for minutes and then the rebound takes place. Head of the refuge chamber had better to be designed as some structure which is helpful to reduce the harm from local severe non-uniform deformation.
