Abstract:The dynamical working characteristics experiments were done on a new type torsional vibration damper for car,and its characteristics was studied by the methods combining experiments with theories. It is shown on examination that the relation of the damper recovery torque and torsional vibration amplitude is typical nonlinear hysteresis, besides its dynamical stiffness is the nonlinear function about amplitude. The damping is the nonlinear function on the amplitude and frequency, the composition of the damping that contains viscous damping and friction one is rich, the mixed damping dynamic model that is recovery torque can highly reflect the damping characteristics of the damper. The theoretical loops are close to that of the experiment in performance,which lays a theoretical foundation for designing the high performance torsional vibration damper for car.
