Abstract:The principle of compressed air leak ultrasonic detection in pneumatic system was introduced. The detection error caused by reflected ultrasonic was analyzed and a method which solved this problem by distinguishing reflected ultrasonic was proposed. Compressed air leak directed and reflected ultrasonic signal was studied through measurement experiment. We analyzed the obvious differences between the spectrums of directed and reflected ultrasonic signal. An algorithm for distinguishing reflected ultrasonic were designed through which the Reflectance Characteristic Coefficient RCC was calculated. From the case study, we find that the RCC value of directed ultrasonic signal is below 100 while that of reflected ultrasonic signal is above 200. The result has significant practical value for distinguishing reflected ultrasonic and avoiding error detection caused by reflected ultrasonic in ultrasonic leak detection.
