Vibration analysis of elastic plate in a tank with fluid influence

Abstract:On the basis of reference [12], the coupled vibration of a horizontal rectangular inner plate of a tank between different ideal fluids was studied by means of single Lagrangian method. With single Lagrangian method, the dynamic equations and boundary conditions of the fluid and the inner plate were presented. Then, the general form of the solution was given. The effects of height of upper and lower fluids, geometric shape of the inner plate, density of fluid and liquid sloshing frequency on the dynamic characteristics of the inner plate were analyzed. The relationship between the dynamic characteristics of the inner plate and the correlative factors was presented with examples. Anakysis results indicated that the upper fluid’s height, the plate’s thickness, the plate’s width and the density difference between the upper fluid and the lower one have important effects on the amplitude of the inner plate, the plate’s thickness and the plate’s width have important effects on the plate’s resonance frequency and its anti resonance frequency; on the contrary, the density difference has a little effect on them.
