Variational iteration method in dropping shock problem on cubic non-linear packaging system

The variational iteration method is used to give approximate solutions for dropping shock problem of cubic nonlinear packaging system. In order to obtain the accuracy of the solutions, a novel solution combining variational iteration method with energy method is proposed, the maximum dropping shock response acceleration and displacement of the system are obtained with energy method, and the first-order approximation solution was corrected. The results show that the acceleration-time and the displacement-time curve got by this method are very similar to the one got by elliptic integration method, and the accuracy of acceleration peak value and extended period of dropping shock got by this method is satisfactory. The variational iteration method has been show to solve effectively, easily and accurately for the dropping shock problem of nonlinear packaging system with approximations converging rapidly to accurate solutions. The result provides a new method for the dropping shock problem of nonlinear packaging system.
