Seismic Testing and Finite Element Analysis of Shear Wall with CFST Columns and Concealed Trusses

Abstract:Shear wall with CFST columns and concealed trusses is a new kind of shear wall. In order to research its seismic performance and seismic mechanism, experiments were studied on three 1/5 scale high shear wall models. Based on the experimental research, load-carrying capacity, ductility, stiffness and its attenuation, hysteretic property, energy dissipation and failure phenomena of each model were analyzed. The finite element analysis was done through ABAQUS. The research show that shear wall with CFST columns and concealed trusses has good seismic yielding mechanism, and the seismic performance are obviously increased compare to normal RC shear wall.
