Abstract:As the most of important mechanism in tracked vehicle, the planetary drive is designed with the static strength theory without correct and feasible data. Because the static data is much different from the dynamic one, high failure rate in use result low reliability of the vehicle. In order to solve the problem the virtual running test platform is developed based on ADAMS.ATV, and the dynamic loads suffered by planetary cage is obtained. Then the fatigue life of planetary frame is analyzed with fatigue life prediction model of planetary cage given with FE-Fatigue. The case proves the new method is feasible to predict fatigue life of planetary cage, and the difficulty of life prediction of tracked vehicle under complicated conditions is solved. The study results can widely extended to other engineering domains, and the prospective of analysis method applied in related engineering system is presented.
