AN INVESTIGATION OF INCONEL625 RIBBED PANEL THROUGH EXPLOSIVE WELDING

Abstract:A ribbed panel is manufactured by explosive welding. There are four key sections in the fabrication process including the sandwich mold filling, the parameter calculation, the explosive welding in two steps and the stress annealing. The bonding interfaces of the ribbed panel were observed and analyzed by means of optical microscope(OM), scanning electron microscope(SEM) and electron probe microanalysis(EPMA), It is found that the welding interfaces are micro wave, and there are few seam and hole defects, the interfaces have a high strength compare with other interfaces mad by traditional welding technologies. It is proved that the explosive welding ribbed panel is a high strengthened structure.
