The blast waves parameters in the venting area are important in damage assessment of building structures under internal blast. Once the blast waves parameters are certain, the damage level of structures and equipments near the venting area can be assessed. As internal blast wave is the reflection of initial blast wave and interaction of the reflected waves by the inner surface of building structure, and the blast waves in the venting area is not the same as free air blast waves, the engineering arithmetic of blast waves parameters in the venting area have not been proposed so far. In this paper, based on dimensional analysis, the relationship of venting area blast wave parameters with different structure parameters is analyzed. Then the internal blast shock wave of building structure is simulated by AUTODYN software. The form process of internal blast wave is investigated and the blast pressure profile in venting area is analyzed. At last based on a large number of numerical simulations, the empirical equations of venting area shock waves parameter are summarized, and it can be used for the base of damage assessment of internal building blast.
