Abstract:In the process of structural analysis of dynamics, the accuracy and efficiency are affected greatly by the model of screwed fittings. As to the complexity and precision deficiency of current models, a modeling solution for screwed fittings based on model updating was presented in which the bolts were simulated with rigidity elements. Firstly, according to the presented solution, an equivalent FE model of two shells connected by four screws was explored and the relationship between natural frequency and screw tightening torque was researched by modal tests. Then the stiffness parameters were updated based on the test results. The updating results show that the errors between calculated modal frequencies and the test ones are less than 2.5% in a large tightening torque scale. It is demonstrated that the presented modeling solution is feasible and effective.
