Abstract:As the sound speed profiles are parameterized in terms of empirical orthogonal function coefficients with time/distance evolution, the inversion for range dependent fast-changing sound speed field can be obtained by employing the moving source in shallow water environment. A method of joint estimation for moving source position and inversion of sound speed parameters is proposed. Extended Kalman filter and ensemble Kalman filter are used to reconstruct the real sound speed field and locates the moving source simultaneously. Simulation results and measured data verify the effectiveness of algorithms. The results show that the ensemble Kalman filter presents a better estimation performance, it is still possible to estimate the evolution of moving source position as well as sound speed parameters in the time / distance dimension, even under the limited condition that the number of receiving array elements is reduced. This method is useful for studying the inversion of dynamic ocean parameters and the layout adjustment of observing system under water.
