Abstract:Based on a certain elevated bridge’s blast project, full-scale models of a column and a single-span bridge were made. The blast tests of a single column was used to study ground blast vibration features and its propagation laws, and the blast tests of a single span bridge was used to study ground impact vibration features and its propagation laws due to blast fragments collapsing to the ground. The test results showed that the ground vibration responses decay significantly with increase in the distance from the blasting source; the influence level of blast on the ground vibration depends on the distance between a position and the blasting source; the dominant frequency of the ground vibration induced by touchdown impact is close to the first several natural frequencies of a structure, so the ground vibration may cause larger dynamic responses of the surrounding structures; therefore, the ground vibration induced by touchdown impact should be considered preferentially in practical blast projects. The test results provided a reference for design and implementation of domestic similar blast projects in future.
