Prototype Experiment and Working Mechanism Analysis of Square Ultrasonic Motor Based on in-plane Mode

Abstract:Using finite element method, this paper presents the vibration mode shape of the square ultrasonic motor stator and analyzes the motion properties of the small teeth on the stator inner circumference surface in plane mode (0, 3) and R (0, 1), and then comes to the conclusion that within one period the six small teeth on the stator inner circumference surface rotate the rotor. Motor running experiments with single phase driver have been accomplished and corresponding motor characteristic curves have been obtained, so above analysis has been verified. According to the analysis result, a kind of square stand-wave ultrasonic motor can be developed further.
