Abstract Based on the method of Green’s function, the problem of SH-wave scattering by a circular cavity near the interface in two well bonded piezoelectric materials was investigated in present paper. Firstly, coupled Green’s functions on out-plane elastic displacement and in-plane electric potential were constructed by using complex variable function, which were suitable for the problem of two semi-infinite piezoelectric materials and one of which had a circular cavity near the surface. Secondly, based on the method of conjunction and the continuity condition of the interface, the two semi-infinite media were bonded, while a series of Fredholm integral equations of first kind for the unknown stresses and electric field could be established so as to obtain the dynamic stress concentration factor and the electric field intensity concentration factor expressions around the circular cavity edge. Finally, some calculating examples were plotted to show the influence of the frequencies of incident wave, geometric parameters and piezoelectric characteristic parameters on dynamic stress concentration factor and electric field intensity concentration factor.
