Abstract Envelope Fitting is the most important step of Empirical Mode Decomposition, but the end swings exist in the course of getting envelops of the data because of the uncertain extrema near the ends of the data. On the basis of the existed algorithms, Improved Method for Empirical Mode Decomposition Based on SSDA was proposed. The method find the best correlative sequence in the inner data and adopt the optimum sequence to proofread Envelope near the ends of the data. The simulation and experiment results show the method is effective in restraining end effect, furthermore the method is simple and easy to realize
