Abstract Based on the Newmark method of dynamic analysis and the full Newton-Raphson Iteration method in nonlinear analysis, the nonlinear dynamic response analysis of membrane structure was then carried out by applying self-made program. Principal stress-strain criterion was used in determining the wrinkling areas. And the modified constitutive relationship method was adopted to consider the physical nonlinear caused by local wrinkle. The fluctuation and the nonlinear characteristic of vibration pattern in membrane structure are summarized through cases study. The dynamic response of membrane structure with Saddle shape is analyzed under the wind loading. Then the influence of membrane wrinkling on the dynamic response of membrane structure is discussed
