Abstract Getting the compression process of the propellant charge bed and the projectile base compression stress is the according as the study of launching safety of propellant charge. Basing on the simulation experiment of the combustion and mechanics of propellant charge in chamber and the PVDF film, the measuring method using the PVDF compression stress sensor of propellant charge of projectile base are established in this article, and the compression stress-time curve on condition of natural temperature and low temperature has been got firstly by using this method, The testing result shows that this method is mentioned in this article can be used for measuring the compression stress of the big area projectile base. It provides a new measuring method for the study of the launching safety of propellant charge.
