Abstract Based on the computational fluid dynamics (CFD), the method of a two-dimensional cylinder surrounded by unsteady wind flow was using to solve the aeolian vibration forb bundle conductor. Firstly, the analysis of unsteady flow around the fixed bundle conductor was carried out. The model and the analysis method were verified compared with the classical literature. Then based on the moving mesh technology and the programming, the vibration of the bundle conductor under the conditions of support case, spacing case and tilt angel case was studied. The vertical amplitude of the conductor with the reduced velocity of the cases was got and it is important for the research on aeolian vibration for bundle conductor.
