Abstract Based on acoustic emission (AE) technology to identify the connecting states of two-bolt connected structures, the relatively equivalent energy (REE) parameter is proposed on the basis of accumulative energy. The REE based on comprehensive consideration of Energy and Ring count of AE parameters, can eliminate the time of vibration and other environmental factors of AE test. It can be used to identify the connecting status more effectively.
