Abstract In order to avoid structural deterioration caused by pressure wave and running safety effected by aerodynamic force impulse when trains passing by each other at high-speed in side wind, from Fluid-Solid Coupling friendship, the flow field equations and dynamics equations of multi-body systems were solved at the same time by integrating the Finite Volume Method of Computational Fluid Dynamics and numerical simulation method of Multi-Body Systems Dynamics. And the pressure wave, aerodynamic impulse, carbody response and running safety were studied. The results show that, the bow wave of pressure wave on upwind train is bigger than that on leeward train, and the tail wave on upwind train is smaller than that on leeward train, maximum pressure wave appears on upwind train. A train screens the other against the wind and safety indices change, the running safety get better in a short time when trains passing by each other at high-speed in side wind.
