Abstract This paper researches a hybrid reliability problem of structures containing random, interval and fuzzy variables. Firstly, the fuzzy variables are converted into equivalent random variables by using the method of generalized density function, based on the probabilistic reliability analysis method, the expression of probabilistic reliability index can be obtained. Secondly, considering the interval of reliability index, it will be calculated and reset by using theory of the interval arithmetic and the method of interval truncation, respectively. Finally, the interval expression of the structural reliability with hybrid parameters is found. Through the two examples show the feasibility and effectiveness of the presented method.
