Abstract Accelerationiterativecontrolisgenerallyusedinadvancedearthquakesimulationtestscurrently.To overcomethepoorcontrolprecisionofanelastoplasticspecimenduetolowupdaterateofthiscontrol,anearthquake simulationrapiditerativecontrolwasproposed.Thiscontrolmethodwasusedtoidentifythesystem impedancewithin lowerfrequencybandandmiddlefrequencyband,respectivelywithdisplacementandaccelerationcontrolsignalsbasedondifferentfrequencyranges.Thesystem identificationparametersweresetsothatthesystem impedancewithinlower frequencybandhadahigherfrequencyresolution,whilethesystemimpedancewithinmiddlefrequencybandhadahigher updaterate.Thesystem drivesignalwasgeneratedusingsyntheticmethods.Theexperimentalresultsobtainedwith ZhejiangUniversityshakingtablesindicatedthatthiscontrolcanshortentheperiodofthesystemimpedanceidentificationto5seconds;usingthiscontrolcangetahigheridentificationprecisionaftertwoearthquakesimulationtests;eventhoughthespecimentransfercharacteristicshavesuddenchanges,thetestaccelerationcorrelationcoefficientcanreach90%.
