Abstract CFD numerical simulation and PIV wind tunnel tests to study micro-mechanism of central stabilizer for the flow around Aizhai truss suspension bridge section. CFD indicates that the central stabilizer promote the formation of vortex pair in the upper and lower deck near the center of the deck. and making it equivalent to lift force. Vortex volume of front and tail of Central stabilizer bridge section were increased, thereby enabling the vertical degrees of freedom involved in the enhanced role of the bridge deck section when flutter occurs. PIV flow trace display air flow on the leeward side of the central stabilizer board formed vortex, same vortex formation at the end of the bridge section, the accuracy of CFD numerical simulation were verified at a degree.
