Abstract:Design of an optimal vibration and shock isolator is presented in order to protect the sensitive internal components of offshore wind turbine during the installation. The design is formulated as an optimization problem to minimize the peak acceleration of load while keeping the maximal deflection of the isolator within a limit. To implement such an isolator physically, a novel bumper was manufactured on the basis of the structure design, the establishment of mathematic model and dynamic simulation. Besides, an experiment is designed to check the model, the simulation results are very close to the experimental, which proves the correctness of the method.
