Abstract: Based on the elastic-plastic contact finite element theory, an initial damage,progressive damage and failure constitute model of the band was introduced. Explicit dynamic finite element model was built and the impacting and engraving process of the band was analyzed. The impacting and engraving processes for two different structure of bore were computed and their dynamic responses were obtained. The influence of different structures of bore to the impact force was analyzed and the mechanism of crack initiation was revealed.
