Abstract: A kind of inner-pass magnetorheological (MR) damper is designed, whose damping passage is in the electromagnetic coil and the regions of the MF effect are in the fixed gap between two parallel disks. The dynamic and response time of MR damper are tested by using a material test system (MTS) load frame. To simulate the vibration of the high speed train, a platform of double mass spring system is built, and with skyhook control damping effect of the MR damper is study, which shows that MR damper is effective for vibration reduction at the frequent from 1Hz to 2Hz.
