Abstract:Isolated bridge with LRB have large response under near-fault earthquake, the isolated bridge may perform poorly because of excessively large deformation of LRB, so it is necessary to study the optimum yield strength of LRB. For this purpose, non-linear time history analyses with different mechanical properties and bearing parameters of isolated bridge were performed. According to the result of LRB bridge’s response, the system response function with acceleration of beck, displacement of pier top, displacement of LRB and dimension of lead diameter is derivated. It is found that there is an optimal yield force of LRB which makes the bridge’s response to be relatively small, and the optimum yield strength of LRB is related with pier frequency
