Abstract:Damage model is an important tool to evaluate quantitatively residual strength of a structure after seismic excitations. From the point of view material, a damage model based on equivalent plastic strain and energy ratio is proposed in this paper, which considers structural behavior under triaxial stress, and it can be used to do the nonlinear analysis of 3-D structures under earthquakes. A nine-story benchmark model structure is built and the damage model is used to evaluate the collapse process of steel frame quantitatively, the results indicate that this damage model can evaluate the process of damage of vertical members and structure effectively.
