Pump cavitation state estimation based on the complexity and symbolic space

Abstract:In order to construct the symbolic space to descript the dynamic characteristics of structure, vibration response sequences of several points are measured. First, these sequences are converted to symbolic series by using the multi-segmented coarse-grained method. With the Lempel-Ziv complexity analysis, the symbolic space is constructed. A centrifugal pump is studied as an example. Its cavitation state is estimated in the symbolic space. It provides a novel method of state estimation to the complex structures difficult to exact modeling or the structures working in complexity environment.
