Abstract:Abstract: Dynamics and modal control equations of a photostrictive laminated a simply supported plate are presented in this paper. The layout of photostrictive actuators for active vibration control of a simply supported plate is optimized by using a binary-coded genetic algorithm, in which the normalized modal control force indexes are chosen as fitness function of GA. The simulation results demonstrate that the new control method is more effective. Furthermore, a novel multiple modal control method is researched in this paper and numerical examples show that the present approach can be used to control the first two modes of a plate effectively.
