Abstract:The vortex-induced vibration of multi-cylinders is investigated based on CFD simulation. The lift and drag forces, induced by vortex shedding, on a rigid, an elastic, two tandem and side-by-side cylinders are calculated using the software ANSYS/CFX. The wake interference and boundary effects as well as fluid-structure interaction are discussed based on the calculated results. The results show that the lift and oscillating drag forces on the wake cylinder will be enhanced significantly by wake interference and fluid-structure interaction. The lift and oscillating drag forces on two side-by-side cylinders could be effected by boundary effect and fluid-structure interaction. It lead a phase discrepancy between the lift forces on two side-by-side cylinders and the maximum phase discrepancy is 180°。
