Abstract:In order to study the dynamic response of tower structure on line disconnection of icing long spanned transmission tower-line system accurately and efficiently, taking 1000kV transmission lines of an ultra high voltage(UHV) transmission project as the prototype, a line disconnection test on icing aeroelastic model was carried out to find out the dynamic response of tower structure under different conditions of tower-line system. The time-history curves of strain at weak location of transmission tower were observed in the test. By analysis the dynamic response of tower structure on line disconnection, the most unfavorable line disconnection conditions and position of tower was investigated, the results can provide a scientific basis for anti-ice disaster of tower structure. Further studies show that the relation between the dynamic response of each measuring point on the tower and the ice thickness was subject to approximate parabolic function.
