Effect of Source Parameters on Coherency Function of Ground Motion

Abstract:Using an elastic half-space model, the effects of source parameters on spatial variation of stochastic ground motions are studied in this paper by the explicit finite element method and kinematic source model. The results show that the fault depth, the rupture velocity, the size of sub-source and the fault direction have influence on coherency function, especially for the fault depth and the fault direction. At last, a coherency model for base-rock site by statistic method is proposed.
