Plenty of space debris has been produced by human action in space. It is constantly accumulating to pose a threat for the normal operation of the in-orbit spacecraft. So exploiting new material shielding structure with good performance will be one of major problems to explore for the national space debris protection field in the future. This paper has simply studied on impact property of cenosphere/aluminum matrix composite stuffed shield, then get some data related to impact damage, and be compared with solid aluminum stuffed shield. On this basis, the feasibility of cenosphere/aluminum matrix composite as a protective material for spacecraft has been evaluated.
