Study on Noise and Vibration for Double Helical Synchronous Belt Transmission

Abstract:The double helical synchronous belt with the spiral angle of 30 °and the straight tooth with 0° were chosen as research object. And the transmission noise and vibration were explored under the same experimental conditions. The experimental results show that: (1) the noise and transverse vibration are related to the initial tension, belt line density, rotational speed and axial force; (2) the noise level was decreased by 11 dB (A) compared with straight tooth synchronous belt due to the difference meshing impact mechanism; (3) the new double helical synchronous belt has smaller transverse vibration response and runs more stable than straight tooth one under high speed; (4) the noise reduction performance is better than the helical tooth with spiral angle of 10°and the double helical tooth with spiral angle of 20°abroad.
