Abstract:In order to analyze the strain of the flexible asphalt pavement under the vehicle random dynamic loads, the finite element model of flexible asphalt pavement considering viscoelastic is established by finite element analysis software ABAQUS. It simulates the flexible asphalt pavement’s strain in three directions under the multiple wheel random dynamic loads of vehicle. It also analyzes the strain’s time course change under the random dynamic loads of a multiaxial vehicle and gets the maximum strain of each point on the pavement. The results show that the strain of each asphalt surface and bottom layer is different in three directions and their variations are also different; whether the pavement surface and the bottom layer are in the longitudinal direction or the width direction, the maximum strain of each point in three directions is not the same. The strain caused by the middle and rear axle loads is greater than the strain caused by the front axle loads in the longitudinal direction and the transverse strain is greater than the vertical and longitudinal strain. The results may provide a reference for the design of the flexible asphalt pavement structure and the analysis of the pavement life.
