Model updating approach based on improved component mode synthesis

Abstract:A model updating technique based on improved free-interface component mode synthesis was proposed. By constructing weighted-orthogonal vector sets which have weighted-orthogonal relationship with the lower retained modes,it is easier to obtain the residual flexibility attachment matrix. Each of the components was analyzed by perturbation method. Then the modal equation and the sensitivity equation of whole system were derived by using the component mode synthesis method. The model updating method based on sensitivity analysis proposed in the paper greatly reduces the model scale and improves the computational efficiency. The application of the proposed model updating method in a wing model calculation demonstrates that the presented method is effective.
