A damage evaluation method for simplysupported bridges based on wavelet transform correlation#br#

A substep method based on the FE model updating technique was proposed for the damage evaluation of simplysupported bridges. In the method, the wavelet transform correlation of the bridge displacement response under moving loads were taken as the objective function, and it reduced the parameters to be identified. A numerical example of a simplysupported steel beam model indicates that the proposed method can quantitatively identify the damage of different positions and degrees with only one displacement measuring point. The load velocity, load value and the location of measuring points have little influence on the quantitative identification of the damage, and the method has strong antinoise ability. The damage boundary approach method can be used to approach the true damage locations and identify the damage extents precisely.
