Probability density evolution method for the ride comfort evaluation of high speed trains

Applying the spectral representationrandom function method in dealing with stationary stochastic processes, combined with the power spectral density of track irregularity, a representative sample set of track irregularity was simulated and the object of expressing a track irregularity stochastic process by only one elementary random variable was achieved. With the track irregularity as an external random excitation, the probability density evolution method for analyzing vehicletrack coupling stochastic dynamic systems was established to obtain the rich probability information involved in the vertical accelerations of highspeed trains. At the same time, according to the UIC513 evaluation standard of passengers’ ride comfort, for both ballast track and ballastless track lines, the ride comfort of highspeed trains at three different speeds of 200 km/h, 250 km/h and 300 km/h was analyzed respectively. The results show that there is natural consistency between the spectral representationrandom function method and probability density evolution method, the combination of the two methods provides an efficient and accurate analysis method for stochastic dynamic responses of the vehicletrack coupling system, and realizes the elaborative calculation of passengers’ ride comfort, which provides a new way for the vehiclestrack coupling system response analysis and comfort evaluation of highspeed trains.
