Abstract Abstract: Dynamics of the flexible body in the centrifugal field is analyzed, considering the rotation gradient effects, based on couple-stress theory, and the kinetic equations are derived. A hexahedron solid isoparametric element is constructed, with the rotor angle as independent variable, and the finite element equations is established using the constrained variation principle. Dynamic characteristics of a cantilever revolving around the neutral axis is evaluated. Frequencies in different rotating speed discover that centrifugal and coriolis force leads the first natural frequency to decrease, however the coriolis force result in the increasing for second natural frequency. The stiffness of the flexible body is increasing, as a result of the rotation gradient effects in microstructures field, and the resonant frequency is raised relative to the classic elasticity results.
