Abstract The study of the cable-stayed bridge seismic behavior at home and abroad is relatively perfect, and abundant researching achievements are got. The seismic performance of the cable-stayed bridge ordinarily can reach seismic requirements, but the cable-stayed bridge expansion joint damage and approach bridge beam collapse are often happened in past earthquakes. As the research on the collision problem between the cable-stayed bridge and approach span is not overall deeply, and the anti-collision measures study between cable-stayed bridge and approach span is not systematically enough. The shock absorption effect of rubber buffer devices on the impact responses of cable-stayed bridge and approach span is researched, the influence law of the rubber buffer devices structural parameters on the impact responds of cable-stayed bridge and approach span is analyzed systematically.
