Abstract:The milling chatter is a kind of instability vibration, which usually affects the workpiece surface quality and productivity efficiency. The paper proposed a method to determine the milling stability lobe diagrams based on theory model and experiment design. The genetic algorithm is used to optimize and determine these constant parameters based on measurement data and theory calculation. Then, the stability lobe diagrams can be made to be consistent with the experiment results. So, the stability lobe diagrams can be used to choose the parameters for the milling machine, and it has an importance significant to improve the milling efficiency and process quality.
