Abstract:An investigation is made to the multiobjective suspension control problem for a heavy-duty vehicle based on mixed H2/H optimal control synthesis. The controller is designed in such a way that it minimizes a given H2 performance index, which keeps the maximum supported H perturbation below appropriate levels γ. The robustness and performance aspects of suspension system are proper to compromise; whist the dynamic performance is satisfied based on LMI region pole placement. In comparison with simulation results of H2 and H control synthesis, it is possible that system performance could be improved by combining both techniques into one mixed norm optimization method to exploit the strengths of each norm.
