In facing of the severe bending-torsion coupling and noticeable earthquake damage of the small-radius curved bridge in urban viaducts, the reasonable and effective dynamic FE models of this kind of bridge were discussed, and the accuracy as well as validity of three models (shell element model, single beam model and the spine-like beam model) have been compared. On the basis of spine-like beam model, the time-history analysis method and multiple earthquake excitations are adopted, by which the dynamic properties and the dominating seismic influencing factors of the small-radius curved bridge are analyzed. The analysis results indicate that the spine-like beam model can be regarded as an effective and practical method when carrying out dynamic analysis on the small-radius curved bridge. Besides, it is proved that the adjacent structure, pile-soil-structure interaction, pier rigidity as well as bearing eccentricity have a huge influence on the small-radius curved bridge, to which should be paid enough attention during design and analysis.
